Mel is an anti-semite or he is not an anti-semite. Everyone has
their opinion, but we've allowed ourselves to forget why Mel Gibson was
pulled over and taken into custody. It wasn't because of his
anti-semitic remarks, people. It was because he *could have
killed somebody* when he made the stupid choice to get behind the
wheel of a vehicle while he was drunk.
We are so concerned about his possible anti-semitism that we've decided
that's all we're going to debate. "Is Mel Gibson an
anti-semite?"..."Was his apology good enough?"..."Should we look at
'The Passion of the Christ' differently now?". Good grief - HE
COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEBODY. What we should be asking is "are they
going to yank his license for choosing to drive drunk?"
People say stupid things when they're drunk and the things they say are
not usually contrary to what's in their heart. He did owe an
apology to the Jewish community, but let's just not forget the more
imminate threat that he posed to others on the road at the time.
Whether you are Jewish or not, you will likely be dead if a drunk driver hits you.
